Position description
The Department of Art History at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a part-time Non-Senate Faculty position with the primary responsibility of teaching one upper division course in Art History for the Winter 2025 quarter. Base salary per course is $8,530.88. The service dates for Winter Quarter 2025 : 01/02/25 - 03/21/25. Pay Periods: 01/01/25 – 03/31/25.
The department is searching for applicants to teach one course from the list below in the Winter 2025 quarter:
ART HIS 110. Studies in Medieval Art. 4 Units.
Specialized topics in Medieval art and architecture in Europe, the Mediterranean area, and the Near East between the fourth and fifteenth centuries. Examples: the Art of the Migration Period, Medieval City.
ART HIS 120. Studies in Renaissance and Baroque Art. 4 Units.
Selected topics on the art and architecture of Europe between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries. Examples: Renaissance and Baroque prints, Bruegel to Rubens.
ART HIS 121. Studies in Southern Renaissance Art. 4 Units.
Selected topics determined by individual faculty members exploring historical developments and individual artists of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries in Italy and Spain. Examples: Renaissance Venice, Age of Michelangelo.
ART HIS 128. Studies in Northern Baroque Art. 4 Units.
Selected topics determined by individual faculty members exploring historical developments and individual artists of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in Northern Europe. Example: the Age of Rembrandt.

Indicate the candidate’s teaching experiences to date, including experience with teaching undergraduates/graduate students, or other populations, as well as their areas of interest. This should also include mentorship that they have given to others in the line of research or outreach activities. Detail the candidate’s teaching approaches and philosophies, as to how they will engage in effective teaching strategies.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD degree in Art History or a related field completed by December 15, 2024.
