Position description
The Department of Computer Science at the University of California (CS@UCI), Irvine invites applicants for a tenure-track/tenured assistant, associate, or full professor position, starting July 1, 2025. This faculty search targets applicants with research expertise in all aspects of artificial intelligence and machine learning, broadly interpreted.
The UCI Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences brings together three departments with complementary computational interests: Computer Science, Statistics, and Informatics. The UCI Center for Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems further connects more than thirty faculty from CS@UCI and a broad range of other scientific fields. Interdisciplinary AI research at UCI is facilitated by the Steckler Center for Responsible, Ethical, and Accessible Technology (CREATE), as well as the Irvine Initiative in AI, Law, and Society.
Over 50 CS@UCI faculty members include 2 NAE Members, 14 ACM Fellows, 12 IEEE Fellows, 14 AAAS Fellows, 2 IFIP Fellows, and 2 Academia Europea Members. CS@UCI is ranked at #16 by CSRankings in Systems (2014-2024) and the 2024 US News and World Report ranks UCI as a top 10 public university.
UCI is located in Orange County, 4 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 45 miles south of Los Angeles. Irvine offers a very pleasant year-round climate and numerous recreational and cultural opportunities.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field. Ph.D. must be completed by the date of appointment. Qualifications
