Position description
The University of California, Irvine (UCI), invites applications for an Assistant Professor faculty position in the area of theoretical materials science research, with an emphasis on quantum materials. The ideal candidate would lead dynamic research in materials simulations using a range of methodologies, including but not limited to density functional theory, quantum Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics, many-body techniques, machine learning, and quantum computation. This position will be affiliated with either the Department of Physics and Astronomy or the Department of Chemistry, depending on the qualifications and expertise of the selected candidate.

UCI is also home to the Eddleman Quantum Institute (EQI https://eqi.uci.edu), which fosters collaborations in research and education in the broad area of quantum science. Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctoral degree and post-doctoral experience in Theoretical Materials Science, Condensed Matter Theory, Quantum Chemistry Theory, or Applied Mathematics.
