Position description

The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for postdoctoral scholars in the lab of Professor Michelle Digman at the University of California, Irvine. The research lab is seeking a qualified candidate to engineer a new imaging platform for bioluminescent detection and develop Python-based code for phasor spectral emission detection. The Digman lab collaborates with Jennifer Prescher in the Department of Chemistry at UCI on a joint research project to develop imaging approaches to track cell behaviors in tissue and whole organisms, including engineering new bioluminescence reporters, bioluminescence imaging, and phasor analysis for bioluminescence data. A successful candidate will work closely with members of a collaborative interdisciplinary team and enthusiastic mentors.

Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in optics, biophysics, biophotonics, biomedical engineering, or related areas as well as computational imaging analysis.

Note: Total duration of an individual’s postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.
